International School of Beaverton ExhibitThe Museum of the Peace Corps Experience (MPCE) has entered into a partnership with the International School of Beaverton, 17770 SW Blanton St in Aloha, Oregon. Starting in mid-November 2006, the MPCE is providing ongoing exhibits of art and artifacts that Returned Peace Corps volunteers have brought back from their countries of service. These exhibits will enhance the learning experience of the students by giving them a real feeling for the life and culture of areas of the world where Peace Corps has been and is now serving. In addition to the displays, former Peace Corps volunteers are working with faculty to see how live presentations by returned volunteers can impart a more complete and positive educational experience. If you are a Returned Peace Corps volunteer and have art work or utilitarian objects that you brought back from your country of service and want to be involved in this partnership, please contact us (using the contact info at left) and/or download our exhibit submission form and submit it to us via mail or e-mail.
Please Consider ContributingIn addition, financial contributions are necessary to allow MPCE to continue with this project. Please mail contributions to us at the address on the left. MPCE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and your contributions are tax-deductible.You can also contribute through Paypal.
About MPCEOur committee's long-term goal is to develop a museum that serves as a center for the preservation of Peace Corps service and history. Through personal stories of returned volunteers, indigenous art, artifacts and photographs, the museum will educate children and adults about cultures worldwide, expanding tolerance and understanding. It also will be a powerful symbol of friendship and cooperation. Please click the links at left for more information about our organization.
